The General Register Office for Scotland is the UK Government department responsible for the registration of births, marriages, deaths, divorces and adoptions in Scotland, and for carrying out periodic censuses of Scotland's population. You can pay per search (yeah, but they have all the registers in the web...!) archives from 1550 to 1901. After this date, you have to ask by fax or phone. Very fast and totally reliable.

Dont lose it if you go to Camboriu or some of this horrible places... is in the BR 101, half mile from the start of the route to Governador Celso Ramos beaches (nice and isolated ones...)

http://www.familysearch.org El site de la Iglesia de los Santos de los Ultimos Dias. La base de datos mas completa y seria existente. Recomendamos comenzar por este buscador de genealogia. En la seccion Software se puede bajar sin cargo PAF, su programa basico para comenzar a ingresar datos. El mismo se maneja con el standard para todos estos softs, el formato GEDCOM o .ged. Este es una lingua franca para el intercambio de informacion entre todos los programas de genealogia.
